Relieve Pain & Restore Movement with Backcare Coffs Harbour

At Health on High, managing back or neck pain is a fundamental part of what we do. For decades, patients have known us as Coffs Physiotherapy & Backcare, a name still recognised across the community for focused spinal treatment. Today, as part of Health on High, we continue that legacy with advanced physiotherapy for people living with back or neck pain, a spinal condition or recovering from injury.
Advanced Tools, Personalised Treatment

Targeted Backcare That Goes Beyond Pain Relief

Whether it’s a stiff lower back or sore neck from sitting at a desk all day, pain after sport or recovery following surgery, spine related problems affect people of all ages. Our approach is designed wherever possible to identify and treat the underlying causes of spinal pain for improved control and longer term independence.

Every program begins with a comprehensive spinal assessment to determine underlying causes. Using tools like Real Time Ultrasound Imaging (RTUI), we assess deep core muscle function and spinal stability. From there, your physiotherapist develops a personalised plan that may include manual therapy, joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, posture correction, movement retraining, dry needling, laser therapy or strapping. We also provide ergonomic education for homes and workplaces as well as advice on sleep arrangements, such as pillow and mattress recommendations.

Ongoing monitoring and adjustments to your treatment plan ensure that care evolves with your progress, supporting recovery, pain relief and improved function.

Restoring Strength, Protecting Spines

The Benefits of Backcare From A Compassionate Team

Backcare goes beyond simply easing pain; it’s about equipping you with the tools to live well. At Health on High, patients who choose us for spinal physiotherapy experience:

Pain relief and mobility
Evidence-based treatments, including manual therapy, deep trunk muscle core strengthening, dry needling and laser therapy, help reduce pain from acute injuries, chronic conditions, arthritis, and post-surgical recovery, allowing you to move with ease.
Core stability programs, movement retraining and posture correction improve spinal alignment and functional strength for long-term support.
Structured rehabilitation, strapping and support techniques speed recovery following injury or surgery.
Education on ergonomics, home/workplace setup, and sleep arrangements helps reduce recurrence of back problems and maintain spinal health.

Occasionally chronic back or nack pain becomes persistent. Assistance with how to manage ongoing chronic pain with an experienced physio with a special interest in chronic pain management can assist. For further information, please enquire.

Whether your goal is returning to sport, managing workplace demands, or moving comfortably every day, our backcare approach focuses on restoring movement and preventing future problems.

I have just completed post knee replacement Physiotherapy at Health on high. The staff, from reception to the trained personnel were engaging, friendly and above all very professional and explained the ensuing treatment fully and the expected outcomes. I cannot recommend Health on High strongly enough for any post operative Physiotherapy.

Your Backcare Questions Answered

Experiencing back or neck pain or stiffness can raise a lot of questions. Here’s what clients most often ask about our backcare services at Health on High and how our programs can assist with pain relief and mobility.

Backcare is a targeted branch of physiotherapy. Creating this division allows us to concentrate on spinal health, posture and mobility while still addressing broader musculoskeletal needs. Many clients benefit from integrated programs that combine targeted back treatment with general physiotherapy, helping improve overall movement and function.

No referral is required and you can book directly with us. A referral is only necessary if you’re accessing Medicare, WorkCover, or other funding programs. This makes it easy to book an appointment and start treatment promptly for faster relief.

Results vary depending on the cause of your back pain and your individual goals, which we will discuss in your first appointment. Some clients feel immediate relief from targeted therapy, while others benefit from a structured program that strengthens muscles, improves posture and protects the spine for lasting recovery.

Your Path to Stronger Spinal Health

Whether you know us as Health on High or remember us as Coffs Physiotherapy & Backcare, our commitment to spinal health is synonymous with care, personalised treatment and lasting results. Begin your journey towards a healthier back today.
